Will the Tigers get back to their old self or continue down the path of destruction?

It’s week 3, and the Clemson Tigers have been knocked out of the Top 25. This standing comes after a big win over Charleston Southern, which seems weird from a win/loss standpoint. However, there were a lot of mistakes made by the Tigers last Saturday that kept the game closer than it should have been. Today, we will discuss last week’s performance, our expectations for the rest of the season, and lastly, we’ll talk about our live show being held THIS Saturday for the Clemson vs. FAU game!

Last week’s game against Charleston Southern started out a bit shaky, with Clemson only having a one-touchdown lead going into the half. Cade Klubnik performed much better, depending on which stat you choose. Klubnik went 28/37 for 315 total passing yards. The spotlight wasn’t always on for Cade, though, as he threw many plays into thin air, resulting in a penalty. There were times he was pressured and decided to throw it up to the other team instead of the sidelines. What I will say is this: Cade is still very young when it comes to college football. There’s an ACC school team talking right now that has a 25-year-old at quarterback, so that puts into perspective how much further Klubnik must come to develop his game fully. From what we’ve seen so far, it’s not terrible. It’s just not the elite QB play we are used to seeing in recent years.

We stay at home this week as we play Florida Atlantic University, who is currently 1-1 on the season. The Owls lost to Ohio in a close battle last week, 17-10, and are looking to take something this week in Death Valley. With the chip that has been created on this Tigers team already, will they come out ready to hoot these owls away? Or will we see the same mistakes, giving FAU a chance to swoop in for a victory? Only time will tell as we sit back and await kickoff this Saturday at 8:00 p.m.
