Too Little, Too Late for Louisville. Clemson Wins!

Clemson, SC – We have more exciting news from ACC play, as the Clemson Tigers men’s basketball team takes care of the visiting Louisville Cardinals on Thursday, January 30, 2023. They clinched the win making the final, 70-64!

A few early turnovers kept the game fairly close in the first half, but with I. Schieffelin snatching eight (8) boards gave Clemson opportunities for second-chance points. Forward P.J. Hall, averaging 19.9 points per game this year, drops 25 points in the victory over the Cardinals. A couple of big threes (3s) by C. Wiggins helped solidify the dub.

The Tigers (14-6, 4-5 ACC) were able to get solid production out of Chase Hunter, who just went over 1000 points for his career. Getting this kind of production from key players is essential to continue winning. Shooting 5 of 8 from the field, 2 of 4 from downtown, and 7 of 8 at the FT line. A well-rounded performance from Hunter and Hall heading into the clutch part of the year, and this is just what Clemson needs as March Madness looms on the horizon.

Louisville was able to outscore Clemson in the second half, but it just wasn’t enough, as Clemson took home the victory.
