Clemson Lands Promising Safety Jakarrion Kenan on Signing Day
Clemson football added a significant piece to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of Jakarrion Kenan, a standout safety from Marlboro County High School in Bennettsville, South Carolina. Kenan, a versatile and athletic prospect, brings a dynamic skill set that is sure to strengthen the Tigers’ defensive backfield for years to come.
Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds, Kenan is a four-star prospect according to On3 and is ranked as the No. 28 safety in the nation. He also holds the distinction of being the ninth-best player in South Carolina. After initially committing to Rutgers in June 2024, he reopened his recruitment in October, ultimately selecting Clemson over other strong programs, including NC State, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
Kenan’s junior year at Clinton High School in North Carolina showcased his versatility. Playing both wide receiver and cornerback, he recorded 22 receptions for 538 yards and eight touchdowns, while also making 17 tackles and intercepting four passes on defense. In addition to his football prowess, Kenan excelled in track and field, with personal bests in the 110-meter and 300-meter hurdles, further highlighting his athleticism and speed.
