March Madness is underway and several upsets have already taken place. #3 seed Kentucky gets bumped by #14 seed Oakland, 11-seeded NC State pulls out a win over 6-seeded Texas Tech, and 11-seeded Oregon takes care of 6-seeded USC Gamecocks. With these lower-ranked seeds spoiling the party for the higher-ranked schools, it’s safe to say that anything can happen in March, but it was no sweat for the #6-seeded Tigers as they dominated #11 New Mexico with a 77-56 win.
Chase Hunter was locked in scoring a team-high, 21 points to go along with six assists and three rebounds. I Schieffelin scores his 9th double-double this season, with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Clemson’s defense created 13 turnovers in the victory and held New Mexico to a season-low in scoring.
Clemson saved face from their early bump out of the ACC tournament and shut down the Lobos offense. There is a lot of basketball left and no stone can be left unturned. Clemson looks to reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2018. Tune in tomorrow March 24th, 2024 at 6:10 PM as #6 seed Clemson takes on #3 Baylor on TNT.
