#9 Clemson was home this Sunday, hosting UNC-Greensboro at Doug Kingsmore Stadium. The Tigers completed the series sweep, improving their overall record to 13-1, with a 6-3 victory.
After UNCG goes up 1-0 early in the first, right-hander, Aidan Knaak strikes out three batters leaving two runners stranded on base. Jarren Purrify ties the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with an RBI, scoring two runs in the process on a sacrifice bunt. Seems that Purrify had a mission to make sure to lock in the sweep, as he knocked in two more runs with a two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning. Clemson leads 5-3 going into the eighth inning.
Taylor adds another run on a solo shot home to center field making the final score 6-3. This is Clemson’s second series sweep of the early parts of the season. Clemson takes on Manhattan in a two-game midweek series at home, starting today @ 4:00 PM and tomorrow March 13 @ 4:00 pm.
