Tigers Win!
What a time for Clemson Basketball! The Tigers not only won but also broke several program records.
Record-Breaking Performance
- 15 double-digit wins
- 18 ACC wins
- 26 overall regular season wins (a school record)
Game Highlights
The No. 11 Tigers beat Virginia Tech at Littlejohn, 65–47, thanks to their stout defense. They forced a season-high 23 turnovers, leading to 24 points and securing a No. 3 seed in the ACC Tournament.
Duke is hosting the ACC Championship
Charlotte’s Spectrum Center is hosting the ACC Championship for the first time since 2019. Clemson, a founding member of the ACC for 70 years, has won this tournament only once. Could this year be the second time? I think so.
Season Summary
Clemson finished the season at 26–5 overall (18–2 in the ACC), extending its win streak while holding Virginia Tech to its lowest point total. While Clemson’s offense has been stellar, it’s the defense that has frustrated opponents all season.
The Tigers have held opponents to under 50 points twice and under 40 points once.
Offensive Highlights
On the offensive side, Hunter was the leading scorer this season, though he only managed 4 points against the Hokies. Meanwhile, Victor Lakhin and Jaedan Zackary both scored in double figures, and the bench added an extra 21 points. It was a true team effort.
Dominating Win Streak
During this 8-game win streak, Clemson averaged 76.3 points per game while allowing only 60.4 points, winning by an average margin of 14.6 points. Wins against No. 2 Duke, UNC, and SMU highlight their impressive performance.
Postseason Outlook
Despite losing PJ Hall and Joseph Girrard and facing “Blue Blood” teams like Duke, Kentucky, and UNC, the Tigers enter the postseason in excellent shape. A deep run in the NCAA Tournament and a shot at winning the ACC Championship seem well within reach.
