Just weeks ahead of opening day, the Tigers are looking great!

We’re just days 43 from kickoff against Duke, and things have been fairly calm. Could this be the quiet before the storm? In recent news, Garrett Riley discusses injuries at Clemson Media Day, we talk potential new recruits, and the talk around a recent player departure from Clemson!

The most recent news we have for Clemson fans, is statements from Garrett Riley about some of the injuries that were occurring within the Clemson roster. He mentioned that some of the top names, Beaux Collins, Xavier Thomas, who in recent weeks were missing workouts due to injuries. It is safe to say we have those two, along with a few others back and ready to be on the field! Riley was also asked about his pressure to perform under such a solidified coach as Dabo, “I think I do every year…” said the former TCU coach.

On the recruiting side of things, we last talked about OL pickup Ronan O Connel. Since then we have picked up ATH Ashton Hampton from Tallahassee, FL, and have our sights on Corian Gipson out of Texas. He is set to commit today at 5pm, deciding between the Tigers and the Longhorns.

If Gipson isn’t secured, it opens up the question of whether or not the defense will continue to look for expansions, or solidify their squad with what they have already?

Second-year linebacker TJ Dudley announced at the end of last week that he would be entering the transfer portal and departing from Tiger Town. Dudley played in just 4 games last season before redshirting, and with him gone, the Tigers LB depth is definitely thin. Though it is unconfirmed, many sources and people with direct contact in the locker room, many are saying that Dudley was taking pictures of teammates. Whether this is true, whether they were in a friendly manner, or not, we hope for the best with TJ Dudley.

Things are going to start picking up heavy here soon, as we’re only getting closer to game day! Be sure to stay tuned to all things Clemson by following IBO on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
