Littlejohn Coliseum: Tigers get off to a fast start on a 12-0 run; only to have Georgia Tech get within 5 points. But by the halftime buzzer, Clemson went into the Locker Room up 37-28.
Tigers come out in the second half and don’t miss a beat! The Tigers dominate the rest of the game. Boom Shocka Locka Boom! For a guy who was born in little ole Clemson and in 54 years, I can’t remember being this excited about our Basketball Team!
The 24th-ranked Tigers are now (17-4) and (9-1) in the Conference continuing their surprising start in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
PJ Hall led the Tigers with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Galloway had 12 points and 18 rebounds. The true freshman Chauncey Williams had 12 points on 5-7 shooting and 2 out of 3 on 3-pointers in a 72-51 victory. The victory marked Clemson’s 15th straight home win tying the 2 most straight home games in Clemson Basketball history and the longest current streak in the ACC.
In closing, Clemson is getting better and picking up momentum more and more. Tiger fans who normally are not “all in” for Clemson basketball have found themselves paying attention with increased optimism as the season progresses. This could be a season to remember as we move closer and closer to the ACC Championship play and postseason. But as head football Coach Dabo Swinney always says, “One game at a time”. We now can brag about football AND basketball.
Next up…Florida State, Saturday, January 28th at 5 p.m. and all God’s Children yell, “Go Tigers”!!
